Gem Star 03/05/2021: Charlotte - Rose

Updated: May 5, 2021

Introducing the first Gem Star of May, Charlotte - Rose, who takes ukulele lessons with Andrew and recorder plus theory lessons with Josie.

Instrument practice is part of your daily music time. There are other sections too, one is practising your written music which helps you understand the score, maybe learning about musicians of the past or present is another part. Practise is correcting errors and improving your technique and is very important, it is equally important to practise the performance aspect, to ensure you can sit down to play something well. There is also playing for fun, the pieces you have enjoyed in the past. Remember to make time for all these items too.

Music Practice

  1. Warm up with exercises or scales.

  2. Work on the difficult sections to remove errors and refine technique.

  3. Practise performance skills by videoing progress on repertoire pieces.

  4. Complete some written music, rhythm, research or listening tasks. (If you don't have anything ask your teacher, or ask at reception)

  5. Cool down and have some fun, play something you enjoy.

Don't forget to send your practice photos to our inbox and when we publish them on the timeline we will add a gemstone to your jar! That's £1 off a extra curricular activity or merchandise!!
