Introduction
Scales are the building blocks of music, and mastering them is essential for any aspiring pianist. They provide the foundation for understanding keys, chords, and harmony, while also developing finger strength, dexterity, and coordination. By practicing scales regularly, you'll improve your technique, fluency, and overall musicality.
Think of scales as the alphabet of music. Just as letters form words and sentences, scales form melodies and harmonies. By mastering scales, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how music works and be able to express yourself more effectively on the piano.
So, are you ready to conquer the circles?
The Challenge
To succeed in Scale Challenge Three, you must perform all major scales over two octaves, both loudly and softly, at 69 bpm for the red mark, 72 bpm for the yellow mark, 84 bpm for the green mark, and 96 bpm for the blue mark. You will have three attempts to succeed.
To earn the Level 3 star, you can roll the dice up to three times in one lesson. You get one attempt at the challenge; if you fail, roll again. For two even numbers, play the scale at forte, 100 bpm. For a pair of odd numbers, play the scale at piano, 100 bpm on the metronome. If you roll an even and an odd number, the scale should be played staccato at 100 beats per minute. You only need one success for the yellow star.
Complete all stages and earn the 2025 Challenge 3 certificate.
Can you take on the yellow circle? How long will it take you to win?
